Why did you reformulate Basic Plus?

What does Advanced Formula in Basic Plus mean?
Basic Plus contains the new, super potent antioxidant alpha-lipoic acid. It has been referred to as a “universal antioxidant” in that it can provide an amazing variety of cellular protection. Alpha-Lipoic acid can even recharge your body's other important antioxidants, like vitamins C and E. Our Advanced Formula, based on the latest scientific research, also provides increased quantities of vital nutrients like calcium, magnesium, and selenium. You won't find a more advance multivitamin on the market!

Why has L-Carnosine been added to the new Basic Plus formula?
L-Carnosine is found in just about every cell of the body, but it is highly concentrated in the brain, heart, and nervous system. Research suggests strongly that L-Carnosine protects cells from dying by safeguarding their vital DNA, protects the fragile membranes that surround each cell, and restores old cells back to their normal appearance. In addition, L-Carnosine improves immunity and enhances the body’s natural healing processes.

What is E-Plex?
E-Plex is a patented vitamin E complex. It consists of mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols. This complex is more powerful than the natural vitamin E alone. As a result, E-Plex offers more protection against free-radical damage, allowing increased immune system support and anti-aging properties.

Will I experience the same health benefits if I take just one packet per day rather than two?
No. To provide your body with the optimal level of nutrients it needs to maintain health it is important to take both packets of supplements daily. All of my research indicates that the vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, enzymes, herbal extracts and superfood complexes in Basic Plus work together best at the recommended amounts to support your health right from the cellular level in your body.

Why do the nutrients in Basic Plus exceed the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs)?
RDAs were formulated more than 50 years ago to pinpoint the minimum daily dosages of certain nutrients to help avoid classic vitamin deficiencies. However, even though your body may be taking in an adequate number of calories and nutrients each day to survive, it is not necessarily getting the nutrients it needs to thrive and promote good health. By taking in just the mimimum amounts of nutrients, you could actually have a marginal nutrient deficiency and experience discomforts like fatigue, lethargy, difficulty concentrating, or a general lack of well-being. Basic Plus is designed to saturate your cells and nourish your body so it will perform at its best and in optimal health throughout your life.

I have a hard time swallowing caplets. What do you recommend?
Believe it or not, swallowing is an automatic reflex. Try to relax your throat muscles by taking a few sips of water or bites of your meal first. Then, place the caplet on the back of your tongue and swallow the pill with plenty of water. Or, you can place the supplements in a blender with Soy Miracle Ultimate Shake. Blending the supplements will not alter the effectiveness of the nutrients.

If I'm following the program as directed, when will I experience results?
Since you are feeding your body nutrients at the cellular level, you may not see or experience results immediately. What is happening inside your body, however, is extremely positive. The time frame for when you actually feel results will depend on whether or not you currently take supplements and what your overall health is like now. Experiences among individuals vary. But, within one to three months, you may notice that one or more of the following is true: you look and feel more vibrant, you're able to deal better with stress, you're more productive, less tired and/or feel more alert. And of course, all the while you're promoting a healthy heart, maintaining a healthy brain, enhancing your natural beauty, boosting your immune system, and improving the health of your whole body. You'll also experience the long-term benefits of antioxidant protection.

What is the benefit of doubling the amounts of alpha-lipoic acid and folic acid?
Alpha-lipoic acid is a water-soluble and fat-soluble antioxidant that is ready and able to be used wherever your body needs it. By increasing the dosage from 50 mg to 100 mg, alpha-lipoic acid can recharge other antioxidants, doubling their ability to fight against deadly free radicals. Folic acid is an essential vitamin for women because it helps prevent serious birth defects. Increased dosages can help men and women to reduce homocysteine, a blood chemical that is a leading risk factor for heart disease.

Can anyone take Basic Plus?
The program is ideal for ages 12 and up. Consult your nutritionally oriented physician before beginning any nutritional program, especially if you are taking prescription drugs.

What dosage would you recommend for children under 12 years of age?
For children 6 to 12 years of age, we recommend 1/2 of the adult dosage of Basic Plus. For children under the age of 6, we recommend our children's chewable DinoPals.

I'm just getting started with Basic Plus. When should I take my supplements?
For optimum nutrient absorption, it's best to take Basic Plus twice a day with separate meals (one full packet per meal) and at least 8 oz. or water or natural fruit juice. The food helps to activate enzymes that break down in your body to absorb the nutrients.

Is it possible that I'll "overload" on any one nutrient if I combine Basic Plus with any of your other supplements?
No. we developed this daily program to work synergistically with all of our other exclusively designed products. That means that you won't be "overloading" your body on any nutrient, but you will be providing it the additional support it needs to maintain optimal health. Also, Basic Plus contains proprietary ingredients like the Superfoods Complex, Herbal Extract Complex, and the Fruit and Vegetable complex, combined with enzymes and our exclusive UltraSoy Delivery System. These proprietary complexes optimize your body's ability to digest, absorb, and utilize all of the nutrients in our daily program as well as other supplements.

Why is soy such an important part of your program?
The use of soy is one of the factors that makes the products I've developed so unique. There are three reasons. First, exclusive UltraSoy Delivery System is a specialized combination of soy polysaccharides and plant enzymes that help to ensure rapid caplet disintegration and complete nutrient availability. Second, proprietary Ultra Soy Complex III contains the most powerful antioxidant components found in the soybean that help to fight free radicals. Third, the soybean is naturally rich in phosphatidylcholine, which is an important component of cell membranes and also acts as an efficient delivery system for nutrients. Research suggests soy activation may increase the biological activity of grape seed, a potent antioxidant in this formula, threefold and increase absorption and activity as well.
