As marketers we're always trying to think of ways to get others to purchase our products. Well here are 6 of the top persuasion tips that are the most effective in this regard. 1. Reciprocity give to others first in order to get back. Give something meaningful and tailored. Think Christmas gifts here, how often have you run out at the last minute to get someone a Christmas gift only because they got you something? 2. Scarcity we tend to want more of what we can have less of. Pointing out what your potential customer stands to lose is often more effective than pointing out their potential benefit from your product. Focusing on the loss produces more results than focusing on the gain. 3. Authority -People respond to an expert or a credible authority. This really is anyone they perceive as an expert. If that person recommends something the interested customer more times than not will purchase that product. I highly recommend you do what you can to establish yourself as an authority. One of the best ways to do this is have a recognized expert provide you an endorsement. 4. Consistency -we tend to align ourselves to previous declared statement or commitments. Think about how you would like your customers or your marketing people to perform. For example by constantly telling one of your key people that they are your best salesperson, they will tend to work as hard or harder to be consistent with that statement. I like to praise my repeat customers on how they are one my best customers so that they continue to reorder to live up to that. 5. Social Proof -People follow the lead of something that is proven - offer evidence that your product or business system is working.
The concept of “Social Proof” consists of directing all your marketing efforts into providing evidence that your product definitely gives people the desired result so more people see your product as working and thus want it. Another concept of Social Proof is picture this: You're in a big crowd of people heading to a baseball game. Here's what happens once the crowd starts heading in a certain direction you end up following as you just assume the crowd knows where they are going. So in marketing if you can get certain numbers of visible people buying your product or business others will follow along. 6. People like those who like them.- People like those who are similar to them. People like those
