I read an article on autopsies today. Kind of a weird subject but bear with me. The article was basically saying how the numbers of autopsies had greatly declined in recent years to where autopsies are being performed on less than 5% of all deaths. Here is the point. It used to be that young doctors gained a lot of insight performing autopsies. Plus other insights could be gathered, which could possibly save future lives. So why are there so few today, simple really, the reason is lawsuits. Hospitals and doctors are afraid the autopsy may uncover a misdiagnoses or mistreatment, which could lead to lawsuits.
