Stress, Breathing , More Energy Digestion and Pumpkins!

We start off with a joke, then relieve stress give you more energy and better digestion. Not quite a summer's vacation, but quite a trip never the less.

---------------------
On vacation with her family in Montana, a mother drove her van
past a church in a small town and pointing to it, told the
children that it was St. Francis' Church.

"It must be a franchise," her eight-year-old son said. "We've got
one of those in our town, too."

Woo Nellie! Shazam – that was an impressive joke – actually it doesn’t matter if a joke is good or bad if you have fun with it. It is recommended for your health sake that you laugh 20 – 50 times a day. This will relieve stress and give you more energy.

RELIEVING STRESS -- Breathe slowly and deeply. Three or four deep breaths provide the most immediate feeling of calmness anywhere, anytime.

A couple of outstanding products for dealing with Stress are Himalayan Goji Juice and also Russian Gold.

Speaking of energy – here are some tips to increase your energy!

FIRST YOU MUST LEARN TO BREATHE PROPERLY. This may sound stupid but many people don't breath properly. Take this test - take a deep breath in. Notice if your stomach goes in or out when you inhale. Your stomach should go out when you inhale and in when you exhale. If you are not breathing in the correct fashion than you need to correct this. When you are not breathing properly you can reduce the amount of oxygen you take in by up to one/third.

TIP: GENERALLY THE MORE YOU SIT UP OR STAND UP STRAIGHT THAN THE MORE APT YOU ARE TO BREATH CORRECTLY. Now you know why your parents always told you to sit up straight. When you stand hunched over you are physically restricting the amount of oxygen you can take in.

The second largest use of energy in your body is digestion. Have you ever noticed how after you have eaten a big meal you generally feel very tired and often take a nap? Have you wondered why? This is because the brain is diverting most of your oxygen to the digestive organs. When this happens less oxygen is getting to the brain, you get tired, the brain shuts itself down, and you fall asleep.

Have you ever wondered why you can wake up in the morning after a "good" nights sleep and still feel tired? This is generally a result of the following. Our diets for the most part are terrible, we eat too much processed, sugary and fatty foods.

A couple excellent products to aid digestion are Himalayan Goji Juice and DigestiMax.

In our next issue we’ll have some more tips on energy and what foods to eat and avoid.

Stress, Stuck in Traffic and Pineapple Fruit.

Stress and General thoughts – have you ever noticed how politicians will do things for appearances the result of which creates a worse problem than doing nothing. But at least they can say they did something.

Case in point, in Atlanta they have a special lane for car pools (2 or more passengers) . This sounds good in theory, but in reality how many people do you know that look for someone to carpool with? I personally know no one. Ask yourself this question – how often when you go to the store or work do you call or go out of the way to find someone to carpool with? Or do you just get in the car and go?

What is the point of these lanes – to cut traffic congestion and create less pollution. My point is this – the vast majority of cars using these special lanes would have at least two people in the car anyway. In other words effectively you haven’t reduced the amount of traffic, but what you have done is removed 20% of the available space to drive on (1 lane out of 5) for 95% or more of the traffic. Thus increasing the amount of time it requires this 95% to reach their destination. Because of the increased time their engines are running, they put more additional pollution into the air than the amount saved by having fewer cars on the highway. This doesn’t even take into the account the loss of productivity and stress it places on these drivers, because of their increased time in traffic.

And stress as we know is not a healthy thing. If you’re one of these people stuck in traffic – try deep breathing exercises to relieve stress and energize yourself.

Amazing Pineapple Facts

Most pineapple in the United States grows in Hawaii and can gain a weight of 20 pounds or about 4 times larger than the average pineapple in the grocery store.

Pineapple is rich in Vitamin A and C. It is also an excellent source for the important enzyme nutrient Bromelain which is a mixture of important protein and milk digesting enzymes. Bromelain helps the body's digestive system and has anti-inflammatory properties as well. Bromelain can aid the action of certain antibiotics and drugs. Bromelain may also aid the healing process in the cases of trauma caused by injury.

Canned pineapple tends not to have this valuable enzyme bromelain as the heat used in the canning process destroys enzymes. Thus it is much better to eat fresh instead of canned pineapple.

Soluble Insoluble Fiber, Colon Cleansing, a Comic and a Joke.

Because humor is such a great tool to improve health I’m going to bringing more humor to this blog – so let’s start this off with a joke.

A guy walks into a bar and asks for five shots of Scotch. He pounds the drinks one after the other and the bartender says, "Wow! I've never seen anybody drink that many that fast!"

The guy said, "You would too if you had my problem."

"What is it?" The bartender asks.

The guy says, "I only have fifty cents."

---------------------
Some items to consider –

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

Colon Cleansing and Fiber Comic -Click Here!

Let’s talk about Colon Cleansing and Fiber. You can click on the links below for the details, however think about this. Your colon is the waste disposal system for your body, what good does it do if you put good nutrition into your body, if your colon isn’t properly clean. If you don’t properly eliminate the waste from your body that waste can be reabsorbed into your bloodstream. Gee that sounds yummy.

Fiber comes in two forms: soluble-found in many fruits and beans, and insoluble--found in the hulls of grains, seeds, skins of fruits and vegetables. Some foods like oats and psyllium contain both types.

One valuable effect of fiber is mechanical: adequate intake decreases the transit time of food traveling through our digestive tract. Fiber absorbs water, so stools are naturally larger, softer and easier to be moved through. Faster transit time means less contact time for toxins...

An easy way to add fiber to your diet is to start eating fruit that is unpeeled instead of peeled. Wash apples, nectarines, peaches, pears and plums thoroughly before eating. One kiwi (fruit) supplies more dietary fiber than a bowl of bran flakes. It also has generous amounts of potassium and vitamin C.

Fruit Peaches Nutrition and Facial Skin Care Resources

We have hoopie do info on peaches and facial skin care here. This sure sounds like two awfully diverse topics until you think of the expression, "Pretty as a Georgia Peach!" Gee was that a stretch. Nah!

Peaches are the third most popular fruit in the nation, behind apples and oranges.

Peaches spread to Russia and Persia (present-day Iran) probably because Chinese traders dropped peach pits along their trade routes. Alexander the Great and his armies found the peaches in Persia and brought them to Greece.

Today, the peach is grown in at least 64 countries worldwide. The U.S. produces about 20% of the world's peaches.

Peaches are good for you because they are a source of vitamins A and C and they are a good source of fiber especially with the peal.

Peaches are also a good source of potassium and contain some calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and folate.

Health, Nutrition, Laughter, Happiness and What - Peaches.

Holy Cow! With a subject title like that I hope this is a fun time in the park!

How many times did you laugh today? Or did we spend so much time worrying about paying bills, or this, or the remote possibility that a hippo could fall out of an airplane and land on our head – or are we going to waste time worrying about that?

I truly believe each of us has the potential to be our own worst enemy. We’re so caught up in making a living that we forget to live. Remember as a kid how each day was like a major event. It could have been just playing in the back yard but we had as much fun doing that as an adult would going to Hawaii on vacation.

Why can’t we just learn to be a kid again. I’m not saying to abandon our responsibilities but to approach each day as a kid would, looking for the excitement in each day. You know I’m convinced the biggest difference between the thoughts of an adult and a kid is that as a kid we never lived or thought of the past. A kid never thinks – gee if I had only played in the Sandbox with Sally more my life would be different today.

The other thing as a kid we would look forward to in the future were events like Christmas or summer vacation. As a kid we would almost never worry about the future. In fact our thoughts of the future were ones of being an astronaut or baseball player or something exciting.

What happened along the way? Where and how did we forget how to be a kid? We need to learn to how to have fun again each day like a kid, or we’re each headed for an early grave.

So what can we do? Well we’re not going to get there over night but we must take our first steps. We need to get up each morning and look ourselves in the mirror and laugh and say out load. “Jim (say your name here) you lucky fellow, you’re going to have a lot of fun today because you’re a fun and exciting guy.”

This next item you will definitely want to read. It's cooler than the proverbial excrement on shinola!

Our subconscious brains are like a computer – it will accept any programming we give it. Good or bad, negative or positive. So we have to be real careful about the words we choose to speak to ourselves. Notice how when we wake and say, “boy another lousy day of work!” how often the day turns out lousy. Or "I'm just not very good at (blank)" At these times un be knownest to ourselves we're programming our brain for failure.

Most of us have undergone a lot of negative programming for years. The news media in my opinion does us all a big injustice always reporting nothing but negative news. You’d think nothing good ever happens.

So to live a happier, healthier life start each say with that “Jim (say your name here) you lucky fellow, you’re going to have a lot of fun today because you’re a fun and exciting guy.”

You know you’re healthier when you’re happier.

We’re going to talk peaches in our next blog entry.

Random Thoughts on Medical Treatments, Nutrition Comic, Papaya Fruit and More

I saw one of those medical shows last night on one of those educational stations on the satellite. I don’t remember which one that’s not important.

Anyway they were doing an operation on someone’s brain for his Parkinson’s Disease. They had his skull opened up and were implanting some battery electrode device, which he could control, which would somehow interrupt his brain patterns to stop his hand tremors, etc.

The point is this was obviously an expensive procedure and I’m sure there were risks involved. Everything from permanent brain damage to death I’m sure were options.

My question is why does it seem all the medical options explored for various health issues are always of this extreme nature. The point is the procedure they did was basically an experimental procedure not guaranteed to work 100%.

The logical approach says here are a number of natural products, nutrition, etc. We show no evidence these have harmful side effects, try these and then if we see no improved results with your condition we’re explore other treatments.

Just my thoughts, but hey what do I know. Hey while you’re at it laughter is as Reader’s Digest says is the best medicine.

Here’s a funny nutrition comic – Click Here!

Papaya - A great Nutrition Fruit!

Some cultures call the papaya tree "the medicinal tree" because it's seeds and leaves have been used to make medicine.

Papaya leaves and unripe papaya have an enzyme called Papain that breaks down protein in meat to make it tender. That's why papaya can be used as a meat tenderizer. Papain is also a powerful enzyme that digests proteins breaking down the amino acids making them readily available.

"It is well recognized that the Papaya contains peculiar and valuable digestive properties, which make it of great value in the diet."
